Firefighters have been dealing with a fire in woodland at Sherwood Pines near Edwinstowe.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the popular forest site at 3.43pm on Monday after a section of woodland caught fire.
Appliances from several stations attended the incident, with firefighters using specialist equipment from the service’s wildfire units to bring the blaze under control.
The fire affected an area of forest measuring around 200 metres by 50 metres — roughly the size of one and a half football pitches.

Crews remained at the scene and a further inspection carried out shortly before 8.15am on Tuesday found a couple of small pockets of fire still burning. Firefighters have been working to fully extinguish them.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
NFRS has urged people visiting the countryside to take extra care during the current hot and dry conditions, warning that items such as cigarettes, matches, glass bottles and barbecues can all increase the risk of fires starting.
In a statement, Ashfield Fire Station said: “This is extremely challenging work for our firefighters, especially in the current high temperatures.
“If you’re enjoying the countryside, please help reduce the risk of fires by taking extra care with matches, cigarettes, glass bottles, barbecues, and any other items that could ignite dry vegetation.
“Thank you for helping to keep our communities and countryside safe.”
Before the fire, Sherwood Pines had already urged visitors to take care in the hot weather, stay safe and help protect the forest.
