Detectives are now appealing for further information about what happened and are asking for anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a large-scale disturbance that would have attracted a lot of attention.

“I understand it may have caused concern to people living in the area but we believe this was an altercation between groups known to each other. We do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.

“There will be a large police presence in the area today and I would urge anyone with concerns to speak with an officer.

“Our investigation is continuing and we would like to speak to anybody who saw what happened.

“We would particularly like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV or dash-cam footage.

“This kind of violence is utterly unacceptable and we are determined to bring all those involved to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 707 of 16 May, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
