A Nottingham City Transport driver has been praised for his patience and care after helping a horse rider whose animal became nervous near a bus.
Kurt, who was driving the Green 11 service along Adbolton Lane in West Bridgford, came across a rider whose horse was unsettled by larger vehicles.
Nottingham City Transport said Kurt recognised the situation and stopped behind the horse rather than attempting to pass. He gave the rider plenty of space and allowed time for them to move safely before continuing.
He also took a moment to speak with the rider, helping the horse become more comfortable around the bus in a calm and controlled way.
The rider later contacted NCT to thank Kurt for going above and beyond, praising his kindness, common sense and consideration for all road users.
NCT said Kurt’s thoughtful approach meant both rider and horse were able to continue their journey safely and with greater confidence.
The company thanked Kurt for representing NCT and showing care and understanding while out on the road.
