A Nottingham City Transport driver helped alert residents to a house fire in Cropwell Bishop, prompting a safe evacuation in the early hours of Saturday 11 April.
In a post shared by the operator, the driver, Ingrid, was driving the Green 11 service when she spotted the fire and took immediate action.
She contacted radio control and the fire service, sounded her horn to warn those inside, and approached the property to make sure occupants were aware.
All those inside the house, including adults, children and dogs, were safely evacuated. The driver also alerted nearby neighbours to the incident.
She remained at the scene until the family were safe and being cared for before continuing her journey.
