The tiny village of Holme just off the A1 near Newark was cut off by road from the rest of the county yesterday.

The images were taken from the banks of the River Trent in North Muskham near the Muskham Ferry pub.
Newark and Sherwood District Council said emergency services were in contact with residents on Tuesday, and the Environment Agency confirmed that 40 properties in the village had been affected. Around 200 people live in Holme.
The council added that officials were on site providing support to residents.
There is still a flood alert in place for the area as of 12:15 pm on Wednesday 25 October.
Nearby Carlton-on-Trent, Girton and Collingham still have flood warnings ( flooding expected take action ) in place at the time of publishing.
