British Skydiving confirmed that the fatal incident at Langar Airfield on Sunday involved an experienced skydiver.
The organisation said a Board of Inquiry will now be convened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Once completed, a full report will be submitted to the coroner, police, the Civil Aviation Authority, British Skydiving’s Safety and Training Committee, and any other relevant authorities.
British Skydiving said the report will include the Board’s conclusions and any recommendations, where appropriate.

“We recognise that incidents such as this can have a profound impact on those involved, those who witnessed the event, and the wider skydiving community.

Langar Airfield, near the Nottinghamshire-Leicestershire border, is home to Skydive Langar, one of the best-known skydiving centres in the region.
