Landmere Lane emergency road closure extended for two weeks

An emergency road closure has been put in place on Landmere Lane in West Bridgford to allow engineers to locate and repair a gas leak.

The closure affects Landmere Lane from its junction with Europa Way to a point approximately 60 metres to the south. It came into force at 12:43pm on Tuesday 10 March 2026 and is scheduled to remain in place until 6pm on Wednesday 15 April 2026, although this may change depending on the progress of the works.

The works are being carried out by Cadent Gas, which is responsible for maintaining and repairing the gas network in the area. The closure has been implemented as a safety measure while investigations and repairs are undertaken.

A signed diversion route is in place for motorists, with drivers advised to follow local signage and allow extra time for journeys. Access arrangements for residents and businesses will depend on the progress of the works on site.

Emergency closures of this nature are typically introduced at short notice due to the potential risks associated with gas leaks, including fire and explosion hazards, making immediate intervention necessary.
