Police say they have received several reports of fly-tipping on Windmill Lane in Worksop.
A spokesperson said:
‘Over the last 7 days, we have seen various household items being dumped along the side of this narrow country lane.
‘Most recently, a large leopard print sofa has been left across the road, preventing cars from being able to pass by it.

‘The waste has now been reported to the local council for removal.
‘These items create a substantial risk to both drivers and cyclists who use it to access the nearby Clumber Park.
‘Fly-tipping costs Bassetlaw District Council more than £100,000 a year, a cost which is passed down to taxpayers and local landowners.
‘It is a serious crime that, if caught, carries an unlimited fine and even up to five years of jail time.
‘We urge anyone disposing of household waste to register at their local waste removal site or ensure that those collecting your waste for you have a valid Waste Carriers Licence.’
