West Bridgford is gearing up for the much-anticipated Robin Hood Half Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
However, residents and commuters should be aware of significant road closures that will be in effect to accommodate the event.
Organised by Goldline Events, the marathon will mean the temporary closure of the northbound lane of A60 Loughborough Road in West Bridgford.
The affected stretch is between its junctions with Bridgford Road and Trent Bridge. Notably, this closure will also prohibit any right turns from A6520 Radcliffe Road onto A60 Loughborough Road.
The road will be closed from 09:00 to 10:30 am, during which a temporary driving ban will be enforced on the specified section of the A60.
Northbound traffic is advised to divert via A6520 Radcliffe Road, then onto A6011 Lady Bay Bridge, followed by Meadow Lane, A612 Manvers Street, A612 Pennyfoot Street, and finally Lower Parliament Street.
The southbound lane of A60 Loughborough Road will remain open during the event.
