Man arrested after two indecent exposure incidents in city centre

A suspect has been arrested after two women were approached by a man who exposed himself.

Officers were called to Castle Gate, Nottingham city centre, at around 4.15 am yesterday (12 January 2023) following reports a man had approached a woman as she walked home.

He exposed himself before the woman pushed him away.

A second woman reported being approached by a man while she was sitting at a bus stop in Bentick Road, Radford.

The man exposed himself before running away along Bentick Road at around 10 pm yesterday.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested by police on suspicion of two offences of indecent exposure.

Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an upsetting incident for these two women and they are being supported by officers.

“We attended both incidents quickly and carried out very thorough investigations which have led to us arresting this suspect.

“Nottinghamshire Police treats all offences of this nature extremely seriously.

“Although we have made an arrest, we are keen to trace witnesses and I would ask anyone who witnessed either incident or has any other information to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 50 or incident number 782 of 12 January 2023.”
