Man arrested for child sex offences in Mansfield

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity following intelligence received from the Met Police.

Officers became aware of a video circulating online and the arrest was made on Tuesday night at an address off Abbott Road in Mansfield.

Detective Sergeant James Oakton is leading the investigation. He said: “The man in his twenties from the Mansfield area was arrested yesterday and remains in police custody.

“Nottinghamshire Police take sexual offences of this nature very seriously.

“I hope this arrest will provide reassurance to other victims of sexual offences, giving them the confidence to report, and the confidence that they will be believed and that police will do everything to bring offenders to justice.”
