A man has been charged in connection with a string of incidents at a Nottingham grocery store.
It was reported that a customer stole an energy drink from Stokrotka, on Bentinck Road, Radford, on Wednesday, 6 November.
Four days later, a staff member refused a man entry to the store, believing him to be the person responsible for the theft. This resulted in the man becoming abusive and making threats.
On Thursday, 14 November, it was reported that a man entered the store and pointed a small silver object at the same member of staff before stealing an energy drink and some waffles.
Mehul Gohil, of Radford, has been charged with robbery, theft from a shop, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and harassment.
The 42-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (18 November) and was remanded into custody.
He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 16 December 2024.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We understand how frightening incidents of this nature can be for shop staff, so we always work hard to investigate them while supporting the victim.
“I am pleased we have been able to charge a suspect and place him before the courts.”
