A 28-year-old has been arrested and charged with possession of bladed article, assault by beating and a public order offence.
Officers were called to Vickers Street, Warsop following a report of an assault.
The incident happened around 12.30 pm on Thursday (14 May 2020).
Mansfield Neighbourhood Inspector Nick Butler said: “Officers made the quick arrest following the report yesterday lunchtime.
“It was reported that a man was in possession of an axe. A man was detained quickly by officers and an axe was recovered.
“We will have officers on patrol in the area talking to local residents and offering reassurance.”
Johnathon Fullwood of Vickers Street, Warsop has been bailed with conditions. He is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court 29 June 2020.
