Man charged over Old Market Square machete confrontation

Police have charged a 23-year-old man in connection with a machete confrontation near Old Market Square in November.

Daniel Drazewski, aged 23, of Norwood Road, Nottingham, has been charged with violent disorder and possessing a knife / bladed article in a public place.

Police responded to reports of two groups on e-bikes near the Council House on Sunday 16 November.

Officers arrested a number of people in connection with the incident. They have now charged a 23-year-old suspect.

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram said:

“We are fully aware the impact this incident had on members of the public at the time.

“We hope this charging decision will offer the public some reassurance.”

Drazewski appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Thursday 18 December.

His next appearance will be at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday 15 January.
