Man has ‘head slammed against shop window’ in cashpoint robbery at Nottingham Sainsbury’s Local

Officers investigating a violent city centre robbery have released images of someone they’d like to talk to.

A man was headbutted and had his head slammed against a shop window, shortly after using a cashpoint.

He had to be taken to hospital for facial injuries, while the £200 he’d reportedly just withdrawn was nowhere to be found.

The victim was attacked by the other man outside the Sainsbury’s Local, in Carlton Street, Nottingham, around 4pm on 17 March.

Police investigating the incident are now in a position to release two pictures of someone they’d like to question as part of their inquiries.

PC Toby Arnold, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“The victim has understandably been left incredibly frustrated and upset about what happened to him that day.

“As well as being assaulted in the middle of the city centre, he also lost a substantial amount of cash that he’d withdrawn seconds before the incident.

“Bearing this in mind, we’re treating this as a potential robbery, which is an incredibly serious offence.

“We’d ask anyone who recognises the man in either of these images to come forward and let us know who they are.

“Our belief is this individual could have some information about the incident which could really help us in establishing the full facts about what happened.

“Any information can be shared with the police by calling 101, quoting incident 499 of 17 March 2025, while it can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
