The Platinum Jubilee is just around the corner and Nottingham Castle has been busy preparing an event fit for the Queen.
Entrance to the festival will be included as part of the general admission with a discount for Nottingham residents in postcodes NG1 to NG16, plus other ticket options as outlined on the website.
Whether you just don’t have the space for a celebration at home or want to enjoy something special with your family, the four-day Jubilee Garden Party at Nottingham Castle offers something for anyone looking to mark the occasion.
Building on the success of its “Easter Weekender” festival, which broke Castle visitor records with thousands through the gate, the Jubilee Garden Party will run from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022, 10am to 4pm, with all entertainment and activities included in the general admission price.
The crown jewel of the weekend will take place on Friday and Saturday with a magical performance of Alice in Wonderland: The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the historic bandstand.
In addition, there will be an exciting roster of live music from 11am onwards, with artists and performers including the Steel Drum Band, soulful Nottingham-based Sadé Eboné and local singer-songwriter, Mollie Ralph.
All four days will feature unique open-air installations, craft and flag-making workshops for all ages and face painting – alongside all the fascinating collections on permanent display within the Castle galleries.
Timed entry to Robin Hood Adventures is also included in the price as well as a last chance to access the temporary exhibition entitled Laura Knight & Caroline Walker: A Female Gaze before it ends on Sunday 5 June.
This is the first of the Castle’s royal celebrations following the announcement that it will be visited by the Queen’s Baton Relay on Sunday 10 July.
