Nottingham Forest v Leicester City: Police appeal ahead of sell-out clash

Focus on the football and help us ensure the day is enjoyed safely by all supporters.

That’s the police’s plea to anyone attending today’s tie between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.

Tens of thousands of people from across the region will be heading to the City Ground for this afternoon’s all East Midlands clash.

With the fixture a sell-out and only a handful of matches remaining of the Premier League season, a red-hot atmosphere is expected on the banks of the Trent.

Nottinghamshire Police will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly throughout the matchday – ahead of kick off at 2.15pm, during the game and after the final whistle blows too.

“Our focus for today is to ensure the good-natured atmosphere experienced at matches this season continues”, said Superintendent Jon Foy, match commander for Nottinghamshire Police.

“We know the vast majority of fans will be going today for the right reasons and will be planning to enjoy their afternoon at the football by cheering on their side without causing any trouble.

“If you are attending the game, or are in the city, you will see lots of police officers today, who will make sure you are safe.

“This could be someone’s first match or their hundredth.
