Nottingham man charged after allegedly claiming to be stand-in window cleaner and targeting elderly victims

A Nottingham man who allegedly targeted elderly and vulnerable victims claiming to be a stand-in window cleaner is set to appear in court charged with fraud by false representation.

Lewis Saxton, 30, of London Road, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 9 April 2020), charged with four counts of fraud.

It follows reports of a man who visited an elderly woman’s home in Highbury Road, Bulwell, on 14 February 2020, claiming to have been sent by her regular window cleaner as he was sick. He cleaned some of her windows before charging her.

The suspect returned a few days later but left empty-handed after he was challenged by the victim.

Police received a report of a similar incident at another elderly woman’s home on John Wright Close in Bulwell, on 17 March 2020, and a further incident at a Boots store on Aspley Lane, Aspley, on 6 April 2020.
