On 8 March 2025, Nottingham Tamizh Thinnai hosted its first-ever Women of Wonder (WoW) 2025—a dynamic International Women’s Day event organised by women, for women—at Oakleigh Lodge and Social Club.

The gathering brought together women of Indian origin to socialise, network, and forge lasting connections in an atmosphere of empowerment and solidarity.

The event was inaugurated by Angela Kandola, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, and Guninder Nagi, Community Engagement Officer at Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service, who spoke on inclusivity and breaking barriers. In a symbolic gesture, every participant was honoured with a sash and floral tiara, recognising their contributions to the community.
