The news comes after an increase in cases in University areas of the city.
The exact number of cases hasn’t been confirmed.
A spokesman for NTU said: “NTU is following all Government guidance in relation to this pandemic and we are focused on supporting all our community, particularly those who are self-isolating.
“NTU has confirmed in broadcast media reports over the last week that we, as is the case with other universities and settings, have a number of confirmed cases of coronavirus.
“We are continually monitoring the situation, working closely with Public Health England, and we regularly share the latest advice and guidance with all new and returning students.

“There are a range of comprehensive and robust safety measures in place across all our campuses and our students understand that they – like everyone – have a crucial role to play in always following the rules and limiting the spread of this virus.
“We have been asking students to complete the NTU coronavirus tracking form if they have had a positive test or are self-isolating, which will enable us to put all the necessary support in place for students and help Local Health Authorities with Track and Trace.”
