Nottinghamshire weather for Friday 13 March

A chilly but largely dry day is expected on Friday 13 March with sunny spells developing through the morning before cloud gradually increases later in the day, followed by a cold evening.

EARLY MORNING
The day will begin clear and cold with temperatures around 4°C at 6am and some areas briefly dipping to around 0°C or slightly below in the early morning. Winds will be moderate from the south-west at around 14 to 15 mph with gusts between 27 and 33 mph, giving the start of the day a noticeably brisk feel. Rainfall risk remains very low at below five per cent.

MIDDAY
Through the late morning and midday period, sunshine will mix with patchy cloud. Temperatures will rise steadily from around 5°C to about 8°C by midday. South-westerly winds will strengthen slightly to around 17 mph with gusts reaching 33 to 36 mph at times. Conditions will remain dry through most of this period.

AFTERNOON
The afternoon will remain bright with a mixture of sunshine and scattered cloud. Temperatures will reach around 9°C by early afternoon before gradually easing later in the day. Winds will continue from the west-south-west at around 13 to 16 mph with gusts between 28 and 30 mph. Rain risk increases slightly to around 20 to 30 per cent later in the afternoon.

EVENING
Cloud will gradually increase into the evening with a small chance of light showers. Temperatures will fall quickly after sunset from around 8°C to about 4°C by late evening, with some areas dropping close to 1°C overnight. Winds will ease slightly but remain from the west-south-west at around 7 to 12 mph with gusts between 13 and 22 mph. Conditions will remain mostly dry overnight with cold temperatures developing.
