A warm and settled early spring day is expected on Thursday 5 March, with prolonged sunshine through much of the day and temperatures climbing well above average before a mild, partly cloudy evening.
EARLY MORNING
The day will begin clear and dry with plenty of sunshine developing quickly after dawn. Temperatures will start at around 6°C, with a light easterly breeze of around 3 mph making for a cool but pleasant start. Gusts will reach around 10 mph at times. The risk of rain remains below five per cent and visibility will be very good.
MIDDAY
Bright sunshine will dominate through the late morning and midday period. Temperatures will climb steadily from around 11°C by mid-morning to approximately 15°C by midday. Winds gradually shift from east to south-easterly at around 5 to 6 mph, with gusts increasing to between 15 and 17 mph. Conditions will remain dry with virtually no chance of rainfall.
AFTERNOON
The afternoon will continue warm and largely sunny, although a little patchy cloud may begin to develop later in the day. Temperatures are expected to peak at around 17°C between 2pm and 4pm, feeling notably mild for early March. South-south-easterly winds will increase slightly to around 8 to 9 mph with gusts approaching 19 mph, though conditions will remain comfortable and dry.
EVENING
Cloud will gradually increase into the evening but conditions will remain dry. Temperatures will slowly ease from around 16°C late afternoon to about 11°C by 11pm. Winds will ease slightly and turn more southerly at around 5 to 6 mph, with occasional gusts near 12 to 13 mph. It will remain mild overnight with very little chance of rain.
