Police and anglers hold fishing event in Cotgrave

On Monday 8 May officers from Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team in partnership with Angling Trust and Cotgrave Diamond Welfare Angling Club held a ‘Get Fishing’ engagement day at the Cotgrave Country Park Lake.

The event was well attended and offered a chance for members of the public to try fishing for the first time or refresh their skills – as well as meeting officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Police said:

‘A big thank you to all that came along today as well as James from the Angling Trust and the volunteers from the Cotgrave Diamond Welfare Angling Club that helped.

‘It was great to see such a good turn out from local residents – giving the opportunity to speak about local issues as well as highlighting the issue of illegal fishing at the lake with this again on the rise due to the warmer Spring weather.’
