A suspect has been charged after police pulled over a stolen van.
Officers responding to another call spotted the vehicle in Hucknall Road, Bestwood, at around 12.45am this morning (Tuesday).
After following it for a short distance a suspect abandoned the van in Colston Road, Bulwell and fled on foot.
Kyle Gill, aged 27, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, possession of cannabis, and going equipped to steal.
Gill, of North Gate, New Basford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) and pleaded not guilty. He will next appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 4 May.
Sergeant Stuart Howe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Theft offences have a considerable financial and emotional impact on victims and are always investigated thoroughly. I am pleased we have now brought a charge in this case.”
