Police in Mansfield appeal to drivers who witnessed serious A617 crash

Two women sustained serious injuries after their vehicles collided head-on on the A617 at around 8.20 am on Saturday, 28 December.

Police are appealing for information from any drivers who they believe witnessed a serious road traffic collision in Mansfield.

Two women sustained serious injuries after their vehicles collided head-on on the A617 at around 8.20 am on Saturday, 28 December.

A third vehicle was also damaged in the crash, which took place on the A617 between the junctions of the A60 and the A6117, near to the new estate at Berry Hill, Mansfield.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and officers are particularly keen to trace any drivers who believe they may have witnessed what happened.

PC Vicki Wetton of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a really serious collision in which people sustained severe injuries. We have now spoken to all the witnesses who came forward immediately after the incident, but we believe others who saw what happened have yet to come forward.

“We believe that several drivers may have seen what happened and we are very keen to speak to them. I realise that 28 December was a long time ago, but I’d appreciate anyone coming forward with any information they deem relevant.”
