A man has been charged in connection with a flat fire in Ruddington.
Emergency services were called to Dunblane Road, Ruddington, at 9.35 pm on Thursday 12 October after concerns were raised for a man’s safety.
Officers arrived and evacuated a number of residents after flames were seen coming from a first-floor flat.
No-one was injured and the blaze was put out by firefighters.
A suspect was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
Stephen Pritchard, of Ruddington, has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
The 32-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (14 October) and was remanded in custody.
He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 6 November 2023.
Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a serious incident that could have had terrible consequences for everyone involved.
“I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case and am thankful that nobody was injured.”
