In a review of its car parking charges Rushcliffe Borough Council has included the country park in its plans to charge more from tomorrow Wednesday, 1 May 2024.
Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced increases in parking charges for its council-operated car parks in and around West Bridgford.
Among the price increases is the charge at the popular Rushcliffe Country Park in Ruddington.
Charges were introduced at the park some years ago and have remained at £1 per day ( 12 hours ) ever since.
This increase which takes effect from Wednesday 1 May 2024, removes the £1 day rate and introduces a charge of £1.50 for up to three hours, and £3 for over three hours.
An annual permit for regular visitors increases by over 57% to £55.
A Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “Most motorists use the Country Park car park for under three hours so the majority of park users who arrive by car will see a small increase in the price of their visit.
“The park has received over half a million pounds of investment in recent years including a new café, visitor centre and skatepark and with more investment in the popular play area to come. For those parking over three hours, the £3 tariff is very competitive when compared to visiting other leisure sites in the region.
“All charges at our car parks are re-invested back into facilities that ensure they are safe and attractive with maintenance on lighting, resurfacing, ticket machines and improvements such as the highly popular RingGo service and electric charging points.
“As part of this ongoing investment this means the majority of our car parks are also regularly awarded the Safer Car Park accreditation.”
