A second man has appeared in court after police seized large amounts of Class A drugs following a series of raids in a Nottingham neighbourhood.
Officers from the city south Operation Reacher and neighbourhood policing teams executed a number of warrants in The Meadows in the summer of 2023.
They found large amounts of heroin and cocaine when they forced open the doors at a property in Meredith Close on Friday 23 June.
Twenty-two-year-old Louie Knight, of Broxtowe, has now been charged with possession with intent to supply heroin, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, and possession of cannabis.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (26 February) and was remanded in custody until 25 March 2024.
Nashon Maleta, aged 20, of Nottingham, previously appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 22 December 2023 charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
He has been granted conditional bail until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 November 2024.
A 46-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, previously arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, remain on police bail.
Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for The Meadows, said: “Large amounts of Class A drugs were seized when we executed these intelligence-led warrants.
“Officers have been working hard on the investigation since the raids were carried out and I’m pleased a second suspect has now been placed before the courts.
“Heroin and cocaine destroy lives, so we work hard on gathering intelligence to execute warrants and disrupt the illegal trade.
“I would urge anyone with information about drug dealing in their area to tell police. We will always listen and take appropriate action.”
