Sponsored walk at Rushcliffe Country Park to raise funds for air ambulance

A sponsored walk is being organised in Rushcliffe to raise funds for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA), a charity which relies entirely on donations to operate.

The service, which costs around £13 million a year to run, provides a 24-hour emergency response and attends an average of four callouts each day. Organisers say the speed of the helicopter and early medical intervention can be critical in improving survival outcomes.

The event will take place at Rushcliffe Country Park on Sunday, 14 June, with participants asked to gather near the coffee stall by the ranger station between 10.30am and 11am. Walkers will complete a 2.4km route, with the option to take on up to three laps.

A £2 registration fee is required, and participants are encouraged to raise additional sponsorship. A JustGiving page will also be set up to support fundraising efforts.

Organisers Howard and Di Brown said the walk is intended to support the charity’s work while offering a relaxed and social event for the community, with seating available along the route.
