A suspect was tracked down and arrested after a road traffic collision in Worksop.
Police were called to Lowtown Street at 11.03am on Tuesday (18 November) following reports a car had collided with another vehicle.
Equipped with a detailed description and assistance from Bassetlaw District Council’s CCTV operatives, neighbourhood and response officers headed to the surrounding area immediately.
The car was then located a short distance away on Cavendish Road.
By 11.15am, a man was detained.
Timothy Miles, 36, of Cavendish Road, Worksop, has been charged with driving in a public place without care, and failing to stop after a road accident.
He was released on unconditional bail and is next due to appear in Mansfield Magistrates Court on 4 December.
PC Sophie Patterson-Lees, of the Worksop response team, said:
“This was a great bit of work between our Worksop response and neighbourhood officers who were able to detain a suspect within minutes of the reports coming in.
“Thankfully, the driver of the opposing car did not sustain any serious injuries, while we’re pleased to now have charged a suspect in connection with this incident.”
