Three suspects have been arrested following a series of BB gun shootings from a moving car.
Officers have been investigating the spate of incidents in areas including Hucknall, Kimberley, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Mapperley and The Meadows in Nottingham, during Monday (10 August) and Tuesday (11 August).
In each incident, members of the public reported being hit after a pellet gun or BB gun was fired from a passing vehicle.
No serious injuries have been reported.
Operational Support officers pulled over a car on the A38, near Kirkby-in-Ashfield, around 2pm on Tuesday.
Three people found inside the car were detained and following the discovery of two BB guns and a tub of pellets, they were all arrested.
Three men, aged 18,19 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and six assaults.
Inspector Chris Chell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Thankfully, no one has been hurt during this series of incidents but firing anything from a moving vehicle is reckless and dangerous.
“Following investigations, we pulled over a car yesterday, made three arrests and recovered two BB guns and pellets.
“The officers involved should be commended for their efficient and rapid response to the incidents.
“Despite the arrests, our investigations are ongoing and we’d like to hear from anyone with information about these incidents.”
