Detectives investigating a serious assault in Mansfield have charged three men.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, was attacked in the Newgate Lane area at around 9.30pm on Monday (18 July 2022).
He was treated in hospital for serious head and facial injuries and is now recovering.
Three men have now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They are:
- Kyle Gregg, aged 33, of Gladstone Street, Mansfield
- Thomas Payne, aged 26, of Birkland Street, Mansfield
- Macs Watson, aged 23, of Mellish Road, Langold.
Watson has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
They appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday and were remanded into custody ahead of a planned hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on 19 August.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent and sustained attack, and I am pleased we have now bought charges against three suspects.
“This kind of violence is utterly unacceptable and will always lead to a very firm police response.”
