Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run incident after a number of people were injured in a road traffic collision.
Officers were called to Talbot Street, Nottingham, at 2.09am today (12 February) following reports a group of pedestrians had been in collision with a car.
Following inquiries a vehicle suspected to be involved has been traced and investigations are continuing at pace.
It is believed up to five people were injured, three of whom have been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is currently believed those involved were previously known to each other.
The road is expected to remain closed, between Wollaton Street and Clarendon Street, for much of today while investigations take place.
People are advised to find alternative routes.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This is a serious incident which will understandably cause concern.
“Detectives are working at pace and will be using all the investigative tools at our disposal.
“While we believe it to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public there will be an increase in patrols in this area throughout today.
“Officers were at the scene very quickly and I’d also like to thank members of the public who stopped to provide assistance to those injured.
“It is really important anyone with any information, or relevant CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage, gets in touch without delay.”
