Police officers on patrol arrested three suspected drug dealers in Nottingham.
Three men caught the attention of knife crime team officers in Manvers Street around 2.30pm on Monday (20 April).
When the suspects saw uniformed officers they changed their direction and headed onto an area of wasteland nearby, say police.
A number of police vehicles were called to the scene and the three suspects were all detained off Lace Way.
During searches officers found multiple deals of both cocaine and cannabis, as well as hundreds of pounds in cash.
Three men, aged 18, 22 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
Police Constable Daniel Cresswell, of the knife crime team, said:
“It was obvious to officers these three men had something to hide.
“Whenever a group changes direction on spotting us, we know there is a good chance they could be carrying a knife, drugs or something else they shouldn’t be.
“Stop-searches are an important part of our proactive work to help keep the streets as safe as possible by seizing drugs and weapons and disrupting criminality.”
