Detectives investigating a stabbing in Top Valley have identified and arrested a suspect.
Police were notified after a man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds on 16 July.
The assault reportedly happened around 6.30pm that day on a subway in Old Farm Road, Top Valley.
While the man’s injuries didn’t turn out to be life-threatening, they were life-altering and required surgery.
Police have been conducting extensive inquiries since the incident and were able to make an arrest on Sunday (27 July).
A suspect was tracked down and detained at a home in Lincoln, which was found to contain two zombie knives and quantities of drugs.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This would’ve been a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was left with multiple stab wounds.
“He was left with nasty, life-altering injuries that required surgery as a result, although thankfully they weren’t even more severe.
“Our policing teams have been conducting extensive inquires since this happened and are pleased to have now made an arrest as part of our investigation.
“We’re grateful to our policing colleagues across the border in Lincolnshire for assisting us with this.
“I’d like to emphasise, however, that our investigation is still very much ongoing, so we’d again appeal to anyone who knows anything to share it with us immediately.”
