Trains: Nottingham Skegness service delays – fallen tree on railway lines

East Midlands Railway services from Nottingham to Skegness are terminating at Boston.

EMR said at 10:22 am on Thursday 2 July:

‘There is a tree on the line near Wainfleet. This is between Skegness and Boston and is disrupting our trains on the Nottingham/Grantham/Skegness route.

‘Network Rail is going to send a team to site to assist to remove the tree, the team are due to arrive on site at 11:20.

‘Trains are unable to run in both directions between Skegness and Boston. Until the tree is removed and the line reopens,

‘Our trains from Nottingham to Skegness will terminate at Boston, and will not call at Wainfleet or Skegness.

‘Our trains from Skegness to Nottingham, will start at Boston, and will not call at Skegness or Wainfleet.

‘At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 12:30.’
