Two men were arrested within minutes of an intruder alarm being activated at a business in West Bridgford.
Police attended a shared office building in Welbeck Road at around 10.30pm on Wednesday 26 August after the alarm sounded.
Officers found that the building had been entered through a broken window before carrying out searches of the surrounding area.
Two men were then seen walking up a ramp leading from the car park.
The men, aged 33 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
The 44-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug after cannabis was reportedly found during searches.
He was further arrested on suspicion of an earlier shop theft in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
Sergeant Jack Lawes said: “The response team was at the scene quickly and discovered the suspected point of entry for this break-in.
“Officers then conducted searches and found these two suspects behaving suspiciously nearby.
“We strongly believe they had broken in to see what they could steal and fled empty-handed when the alarm was activated.
“No one deserves to go into their place of work and find it has been targeted like this, and tackling burglary is a priority for officers working across Rushcliffe.
“Our investigation into this incident will continue following these arrests and anyone who has any relevant information should get in touch.”
