Two women stalked in Nottingham city centre – appeal for car occupants who helped them to come forward

Two frightened women were followed and harassed by a man in Nottingham who crossed streets and glared at them on several occasions.

The women were so visibly distressed that a member of the public helped them get away from the area in their car.

Police Constable Kerry Darrington is leading the investigation and has issued a detailed description of the man.

She said: “This must have been a terrifying experience for the two girls. They did everything they could to avoid the man.

“We are now appealing to anyone to come forward with our investigation.

“We were called at around 2.30pm on Friday 11 September to Goldsmith Street onto Talbot Street in Nottingham where a man has followed the women, crossing streets to keep up with them.

“The man also stared at them on multiple occasions.

“The women were clearly distressed and a member of public stopped their car to make sure if they were okay. They confirmed that they were being stalked and got in the car to safety.

“The man has been described as white, late 20s to early 30s, around 5’8′ tall, brown hair, bulging eyes and a mid-length ginger beard. He was wearing a dark green coat, possibly khaki that went past the hip in length, wearing loose sandy brown coloured shorts that were above the knee, long socks and a Louis Vuitton patterned laced shoes.

“We are appealing to the occupants of the vehicle that helped the women to come forward so we can thank them and speak to them about the incident.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who can help with our enquiries. If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident 439 of 11 September 2020.”
