The service extinguished the garden bonfire.
Firefighters at East Leake said:
‘Last night ( 3 August ) we were called to a bonfire on Bunny Lane.
‘The resident had been manning the area but had caught the undergrowth behind.
‘Due to the dry conditions it was decided to extinguish the fire.

‘Please can we remember that it only takes one ember to start a fire that can rapidly get out of control.
‘So where possible waiting till wetter conditions to have a fire.
Avoid bbq use in dry areas, use on slabs and away from fences.’
