Emergency services attended this collision in Loughborough this week.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Castle Donington Station said:
‘On Tuesday, 11 February we attended the following road traffic collision in Loughborough.
‘The driver’s foot was trapped under the dashboard, and this entrapment prevented him from exiting the vehicle.
‘Firefighters worked alongside air ambulance land medics, paramedics, and technical rescue specialists to extricate and treat the casualty.
‘Heavy goods vehicles, by their nature, present challenging incidents for firefighters due to their larger size. Utilising specialist equipment carried on the heavy rescue unit based at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Southern Station, this incident was brought to a close. The casualty was sent to hospital in a timely manner and has been treated for his injuries.
‘We urge all drivers to pull over if tired and to ensure sufficient braking distance between their vehicle and the one in front.’
