The Mayor of Rushcliffe, Cllr Andy Brown, is inviting the community to join him and local dignitaries in observing a two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day on Monday, 11 November.
All are welcome to attend the Remembrance event on Central Avenue in West Bridgford, which starts shortly before 11 am with a bugler playing The Last Post on the stroke of the hour, followed by the two-minute reflection.
Cllr Brown said: “This year, as with every year, it is so important that we pay our respects to our Armed Forces and their families, and remember all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving their country – not just those lost in World Wars 1 and 2, but sadly in more recent conflicts.
“As we approach Armistice Day, residents and the local community are invited to join us for the two-minute silence in West Bridgford to reflect and remember those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
“Everyone is welcome to attend; please arrive in good time ahead of 11 am.”
