A man who was cleaning windows without the home owner’s consent has been arrested after reportedly trying to enter the property.
The incident happened at Chelmsford Road in New Basford at around 4 pm on Wednesday (30 September 2020) when the victim reported that the man started to clean his windows and when asked to leave, the offender began to demand money.
Ed Cook is leading the investigation. He said: “Officers were quickly on the scene following the call and arrested a 30-year-old man in connection.
“He has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody. He was also arrested for another burglary on 25 September at the same address under similar circumstances.
“He remains in police custody.
“We are keen to hear from anyone else who may have been put in a similar situation and had a man offering window cleaning services in the area around the same time. He has been described as around 5’10’, wearing a dark cap and orange coat.
“We are also appealing for witnesses and information to come forward to please call 101, quoting incident 493 of 30 September 2020.”
