A suspected drug dealer was arrested after officers witnessed a drug exchange from a car in Nottingham.
Plain-clothes officers were patrolling in an unmarked vehicle during the evening of Wednesday (18 February) when they spotted the suspected activity at Gill Street, Arboretum.
A man was observed entering the vehicle, then swiftly exiting as he placed an item in his trouser pocket.
Believing a drug deal had taken place, uniformed colleagues nearby were alerted and an arrest was soon made.
A search of the vehicle revealed deal bags containing the Class B drug cannabis concealed in the car’s front console.
Cash and two mobile phones were also seized.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
He has been released on bail as the investigation continues.
PC Glen Fitzgerald, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Tackling drug crime is a key priority for the city central area, and any chance we get to take drugs off the street is a brilliant result.
“Conducting regular patrols in both unmarked and marked vehicles means that we have a range of tactics at our disposal, and we’re ready to act on anyone who wishes to commit crime.”
