‘Thank you to colleagues from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service for supporting us at the scene and, importantly, thank you to our partner agencies right across Nottinghamshire who have worked with us to manage this incident and bring it close to a conclusion.

‘We now have the fire surrounded but expect to be on scene for some time…’

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service | 1:15 pm

‘We now have around 13 fire appliances at the scene of the fire on the Hathernware Industrial Estate, Sutton Bonington.

‘This is a large fire – involving buildings, trailers, timber, pallets and cylinders – which is putting out a significant smoke plume.

‘This smoke plume is causing some local disruption and is impacting train lines in the area.

‘Please also be aware if you live locally, and you have heard some loud bangs, that this is the cylinders currently involved in the fire – do not be alarmed.

‘We’re working closely with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service at this incident and are being supported by Nottinghamshire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Network Rail.

‘As we’ve said before, please avoid the area whilst our crews work to get this fire under control and reduce the smoke plume. We expect to be here for some time.’

East Midlands Railway | 12:15 pm

‘There is a fire next to the track at Barrow-upon-Soar. This is between Sileby and Loughborough and is disrupting our trains on the Leicester/Loughborough/Nottingham route.

‘Emergency services are currently on site dealing with the problem.

‘Trains running through the area will not be able to call at Barrow-upon-Soar in both directions.

‘At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.

‘We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 1400.’
