Detectives have launched an investigation after reports of a serious assault in St Ann’s.
Police were called to Harlaxton Walk at 4.20pm on Wednesday 12 August after reports of an injured man in the street.
A 35-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious and life-threatening head injuries.
A cordon is in place while officers gather evidence and conduct CCTV and door-to-door enquiries.
DI Paul Shortt, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers are working swiftly to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“We recognise that this will be concerning for the local community, and our teams are working hard to identify the person responsible as quickly as possible.
“One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Our CCTV and other local inquiries continue, but we are also asking for the public’s help.
“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear something? If you have any information, however minor you may think it is, or other CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage, please get in touch with us without delay.”
