Work to replace road markings and studs on the A60 near Ravenshead has begun after concerns were raised about sections of the road being left without white lines for several weeks.
Nottinghamshire County Council has confirmed that work started on Friday 2 October and will continue overnight early this week.
The update follows concerns from motorists and a local councillor about the A60 Nottingham Road through Ravenshead, where sections had been resurfaced but road markings had yet to be reinstated.
Cllr Stuart Bestwick said the lack of markings was a particular concern for motorists travelling after dark.
Responding to the concerns, a spokesperson for Nottinghamshire County Council said: “We recently surface dressed and encapsulated the A60 between Ravenshead and Burnt Stump Hill as part of our record-breaking investment in Nottinghamshire roads.
“When surface dressing, we need to leave the surface for a short time to settle before replacing any lining.
“With the huge amount of dressing we’ve delivered this year, replacing the lining has taken longer than usual, but work started 2 October to replace the lines and studs, and will continue overnight early next week.”
The council’s response means further overnight work is expected during the week beginning Monday 5 October.
