A suspect has been arrested following reports of a sexual assault in Nuthall.
Police were called to a car park in Upminster Drive around 3.30am today (2 May).
They received reports a woman had just been assaulted there.
Police have since arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of rape.
He remains in custody, while a police cordon set up at the scene is still in place.
Detective Sergeant Barry Haines, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The victim is currently being supported by specially trained officers while we continue to investigate all lines of inquiry.
“A suspect has been arrested in connection with what we believe to be an isolated incident.
“We appreciate this incident will cause some concern to the public, but I want to reassure them just how seriously we treat all reports of this nature.
“I’d also ask anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information that could assist this ongoing investigation to please come forward.
“This can be reported to the police on 101, quoting incident 59 of 2 May 2025, or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
