On Friday 2 June a joint Fatal Four operation was conducted in East Leake with Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood Police Team and Roads Policing Unit.
Officers stopped a number of vehicles.
This resulted in a number of offences being detected, four men were arrested from three different vehicles – which also saw two of these vehicles along with cannabis and cocaine being seized.
The following offences were discovered and dealt with by police:
• 1 x Drink drive
• 3 x Drug drive
• 1 x Possession of Class A – cocaine
• 2 x Possession of Class B – cannabis
• 2 x Drive otherwise in accordance with a licence
• 2 x Drive a motor vehicle with no insurance
Police said:
‘The fatal four are the most common causes of road accidents and yet, very easy to avoid. Stay within the speed limit, don’t use your mobile phone, always wear a seat belt and never drive if you plan to drink alcohol.
‘Drivers are encouraged to remember that any consumption of alcohol or drugs has an impact on your driving and is detrimental to your awareness and ability to react – even if only taken in small quantities.’
