Electric bike and taxi crash in Nottingham city centre

Two suspects have been arrested following a collision between an electric bike and a taxi in Nottingham city centre.

Police officers were on a nighttime economy patrol in Hounds Gate when they attended the collision around 1.30am on Sunday (10 August).

Two men, who were riding on the bike, were taken to hospital with injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

A screwdriver was recovered close to the scene.

Officers put a cordon in place while investigations took place but this will soon be lifted.

Two men, aged 18 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon.

Inspector Andy Wright, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We believe a number of witnesses may have seen what happened and are urging them to get in touch.

“Likewise, if anyone has any dashcam footage which could assist please contact us.”
