Find out when Victoria Centre Nottingham launches post-Christmas sales

Many retailers in the centre have decided to reopen on 26 December, however some opening times have been altered to accommodate for shoppers and allow plenty of time for socially distanced bargain hunting.

Nottingham’s Victoria Centre has revealed when retailers will be launching their post-Christmas sales – with many staggering the start date to allow for a safer shopping experience.

Many retailers in the centre have decided to reopen on 26 December, however some opening times have been altered to accommodate for shoppers and allow plenty of time for socially distanced bargain hunting. Some of the sales starting on Boxing Day include:

  • Topshop – from 7am
  • Next – 7am
  • Boots – 7am
  • River Island – from 8am
  • Office
  • Yankee Candle

With a difficult year almost behind us, some retailers are choosing to reopen on 27 December, to give staff an opportunity to spend more time with families – following government advice and easing of restrictions to allow mixed households for a few days over the festive break.

Retailers who have confirmed that they will be closed on 26 December with plans to open and launch their sales on 27 December include:

  • John Lewis & Partners
  • The Entertainer
  • Clintons

While the city remains in Tier 3, the centre’s food outlets will also be operating on a takeaway only basis to help fuel post-festive shopping.

Similarly to before Christmas, the York Street pedestrian doors will be closed and visitors are advised to use lifts with only one household bubble at a time and to use the car park tap n go system.

Commenting on the post-Christmas sales, Nigel Wheatley centre director at Victoria Centre said:

“The safety of our shoppers is our number one priority and our retailers and centre team have worked hard to ensure that visitors can still shop while following all government guidance.

“This year, the start of the sales season is more staggered than normal, split across two days and many of those who have decided to launch on Boxing Day have extended opening hours. We’re encouraging visitors to spread their shopping trips throughout the day.

“The centre team will continue to provide extra cleaning, hand sanitiser stations and guidance for shoppers and we ask that everyone who visits the centre follows the guidelines to keep staff and fellow shoppers safe, including the wearing of face coverings.

“Our entire team will be on the malls to help everyone queue safely to enter stores and we will be controlling the number of people in the centre as we have been doing for the last few months.”
